3M Extreme Sealing Tape 4412N is a neutral, highly deformable single-sided acrylic tape with a high-quality ionomer backing and a thickness of 2.0 mm. Our tape is specially developed for professional sealing of existing joints, seams or holes exposed to extreme temperatures, humidity and direct sunlight.
3M Extreme Sealing Tape 4412N is an ideal solution for sealing gutters and mechanical fasteners on the roof of commercial vehicles, eliminating the need to use large quantities of liquid sealant. Our tape offers very high adhesion and can be used for all kinds of difficult situations. With this single-sided tape, sealing is usually done by covering existing joints or holes with tape, rather than sealing 'between surfaces', as is usually done with double-sided tapes, gasket materials or liquid sealants/adhesives. This product's acrylic adhesive is produced using the same technology platform as 3M VHB Tapes. This pressure-sensitive tape offers exceptional performance in challenging conditions. The ionomer backing film is very robust but also flexible and abrasion-resistant. The deformable tape offers effective sealing at contours, edges, rivets and screw heads. The thick acrylic adhesive is very soft, provides excellent sealing and is also very durable outdoors. The tape is specially designed for high adhesion to the ionomer film, allowing an overlapping tape pattern to be created for a strong and effective seal. The seal is waterproof and the tape adheres to a wide range of substrates after contact without drying time, dripping or the need for cleaning. The tape moulds to existing contours, edges, rivets and screw heads. 3M Extreme Sealing Tape can be painted to match the colour of the substrate; strong adhesion in all weather conditions (sun, rain, snow, extreme temperatures). What are ionomers? Ionomers include any class of polymeric materials consisting of thermoplastic resins stabilised using ionic crosslinking. Some commercial applications for ionomers include golf club covers, semi-permeable membranes, sealing tapes and thermoplastic elastomers.
